For our Research & Development department we are looking for a:
Embedded Software / Firmware Engineer
The department:
The R&D department consists of 18 FTE and has employees with a background in electronics, chemistry, mechanics and software. Together they work intensively to come to enhancements of existing applications, but they are also responsible for the development of completely new applications. The department works multidisciplinary and often on a project basis, where the quality of our products is of paramount importance.
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you are independent, decisive and driven by quality. You like to work in an agile way. In addition, you have no problem with (re)using other people's software.
The function:
- Developing embedded software for new Skalar analyzers and maintaining and improving existing embedded software
- Testing embedded software (in collaboration with test engineer)
- Support for production and helpdesk
- After thorough analyses and consultation, determining technical and strategic choices in embedded software, on which management can make well-considered decisions and choices
- Evaluating and co-determining the technical specifications of the electronics platform
- Collaborating in multidisciplinary project teams
- Programming embedded applications in a real-time environment in C/C++
What do we ask:
- Completed bachelor supplemented with at least 3 years of experience in embedded software development
- Good knowledge of English and preferably also Dutch
- Knowledge of: RTOS, C, C++, Design Patterns
- Knowledge of standard communication protocols such as: TCP/IP, I2C, SPI, CAN-bus
- Focus on quality: software testing, risk analysis
- Ability to perform code and design reviews
- Experience with: Agile / Atlassian tools / Git
- Ability to read electronic diagrams
- Knowledge of laboratory processes is a plus
- Hands-on, can-do mentality
- Competencies: analytical, communicative, problem-solving, ownership, involvement
